The mission of the Big Easy Elite is to promote the values of selfless service, dedicated effort and strength of character, all of which are exemplified through Randy Livingston’s life and leadership in sports and education, as well to inspire new generations to follow his example as they face the challenges of the future.
Big Easy Elite will execute its mission by conducting programs for the disadvantaged youth in the area surrounding New Orleans city while also branching out on a national level to assist children throughout the state of Louisiana and beyond.
Big Easy Elite will promote positive outcomes for young children from the ages of 8 – 18, with particular focus on those with a disadvantaged socioeconomic start. Our first priority is to support programs that facilitate systemic change for these children.
The Organization focuses its works in places where disadvantage children live, encompassing the deprived areas of New Orleans and elsewhere. Big Easy Elite prides itself on investing in children, developing in them leadership characteristics and promoting social awareness through sports, travel, and community outreach and timeless act of service.
General Principles & Themes
Connecting people and organizations around common goals: The Big Easy Elite uses meetings before and after basketball events to connect the players with others to help them establish networking skills. There will be site visits to various colleges and universities where they will talk to athletes who have come from similar circumstances, who will offer valuable perspective and visible reminder of the impact of life change through basketball.
Big Easy Elite aims to, and will serve as a catalyst, to encourage leaders (Athletes, Politicians, Musicians, Business Men & Women) to talk to children about their fields of expertise and experiences, allowing both sides to gain understanding and compassion.
Developing partnerships. A priority for Big Easy Elite is to continue partnering with corporations, institutions of higher education, media resources, non-profits, and others in order to find, father and advance the best solutions available to recognize and furthermore attack and cure the growing problems in the New Orleans area.
Achieving measurable, tangible results is an important task for Big Easy Elite, and as such is a highly invested area of focus. We hope to strengthen the ability of our youth, teaching them to set lifetime goals and strive for realistic dreams. We intend to link each individual that we encounter with the resources and individuals who can assist them, directly and indirectly. We will initiate and support research that effectively collects, analyzes and disseminates critical data and information pertaining to the current state of the familial environment in New Orleans.
